Collision at San Lorenzo Port in Argentina
Nisomar, the data-driven maritime services company, with port agency at its core, is advising that at approximately 2230 hrs LT on 24 April 2018, m.v. OCEAN TREASURE collided with Terminal 6 North berth while manoeuvring in San Lorenzo Port, Argentina. Substantial damage has been caused to conveyor belts, arms, the gangway and the container cabin (which had one person inside) that had been placed over the gangway.
The coastguard, service boats and ambulance services are working in the area, continuing rescue work. The vessel was fixed to load approximately 27.000 Mt – SBM & approximately 24.000 Mt – Maize with ultimate destination of Oman & Saudi Arabia.
The latest information provided reports that there are no casualties and all workers who fell into the water have been rescued. However, damage to the Terminal is considerable.

UPDATE 3 May 2018:
Nisomar has been informed that authorities expect the north berth of Terminal 6 to remain inoperative for at least one and half years. Cargo normally loaded or discharged at this berth is being distributed between other terminals. Authorities have not concluded their investigation into the extent of the damage and the official cause of the collision has not been announced. The south berth of Terminal 6 was not damaged in the incident and continues to operate as normal.
