Argentina to Reduce River and Port Pilotage Charges Nationwide
Nisomar, the data-driven maritime services company, with port agency at its core, is advising that Argentina has announced new maximum rate regulations for river and port pilotage services which will reduce port tariffs by between 20 and 40 per cent.
The announcement by the Secretariat of Ports and Waterways of the Ministry of Transport is in co-operation with the country’s shipping industry and will increase the competitiveness of Argentinian ports.
The new regulations mark the first time the Argentinian Government has imposed a rate since 1992 and follows its public hearing last month on setting a maximum rate for pilotage services. Tariffs have been unregulated in the past 25 years.
The full list of new tariffs will be released imminently.
